Indian philosophy refers to philosophical traditions of India and are known as ‘Darshanas’. There are six major schools that believe in the authority of the Vedas and are categorised as 'aastika-darshanas'. They are Nyaya, Vaisheshika, Sankhya, Yoga, Mimamsa and Vedanta.

Similarly, there are some that do not believe in the authority of the Vedas and thus, are known as ‘nastika-darshanas’. They are Charvaka, 4 Buddhist schools and Jain school.

In this discourse, Br. Ved Chaitanya says that “philosophy as a discipline is a very structured Science” and gives an overview of all the twelve schools of Indian philosophy.

Br. Ved Chaitanya delivered this discourse at Adi Sankara Nilayam in July, 2021, during the weekly satsang.
