Pacific Crest Trail - Washington Section J - Snoqualmie Pass to Stevens Pass This hike starts at the trail head for the Pacific Crest Trail in Snoqualmie Pass. This route travels through the Alpine Lakes Wilderness which is one of the most remote sections of the PCT. Starting in Snoqualmie Pass you will 6 miles into your hike pass the Kendall Katwalk which is the most expensive section to construct on the entire PCT. This 150 yard section was blasted out of granite stone on the side of a mountain making for a beautiful hike with amazing views. The Kendall Katwalk is a popular destination for day hikers, trail runners and backpackers. After passing the Kendall Katwalk you can hike for just over a mile to two beautiful alpine lakes with campsites. I continued past these lakes on for 11 more miles until reaching Spectacle Lake. The hike was not easy as I traversed a 4 mile section of rock trail on the side of a mountain. After the rocky section of trail the hike became easier. I slowly hiked out of one mountain area into another with softer terrain. I ended up having to night hike the rest of the way to Spectacle Lake. At Spectacle Lake I was able to take some amazing Astrophotography pictures of the milky way. I then awoke to the beautiful views of Spectacle Lake. I learned that there was a fire reported at Waptus Lake and would have to cut my hike short and return to Snoqualmie Pass as I did not want to catch on fire. This was a beautiful section of the PCT and I highly recommend it to anyone who may be visiting Washington. #pacificcresttrail #pct2024 #pct
