Just wanted to say shoutouts to Eon for dropping a video on this topic, I just wanted to clarify I'm giving my own take on the vs battle so please don't go spammer how I'm copying bro and i suck. Pain and Katakuri were at one point the strongest characters our MC’s had to deal with and the only reason they overcame them was through plot. Katakuri literally made Luffy run away along with injuring himself, while Pain while nerfed forced Naruto to get outside help to fully defeat him. For this vs battle we will be saying that Pain is going to invade Whole Cake Island, which leads into Katakuri stepping up to ensure his family's safety. Will Pain's rinnegan surpass Katakuris ability to see into the future? Or will Katakuri foresee his own Victory. Pain/Nagato is the leader of the akatsuki and wielder of the infamous rinnegan. A dojutsu that's a direct evolution of the sharingan. Due to its overwhelming power and nature, Nagato decided to use a jutsu that allowed him to expand his abilities into 6 separate bodies. These are known as the paths of pain, a group of Chakra Rod wielding monsters with each one possessing an ability of the rinnegan. The Deva Path leads them with his being able to pull and push enemies by manipulating gravity. He also has his almighty push which has the range of an entire village. The Asura Path has weapons that it can choose from in its body, Like blades, saws and missiles for some reason. The Animal Path is capable of summoning various animals, like a dog that multiplies after taking damage, birds, and etc. The Human Preta and Naraka path are all not really that combat related, but they allow Pain to steal souls, absorb chakra, and if one of his paths die, he can simply revive them. These paths of Pain have their vision linked, meaning they can see your next move in 6 different angles. However, I think the biggest thing in his arsenal that is going to be giving Kata the most trouble, is the Chibaku Tensei. This move is a gravitational pull that absorbs everything in its path, creating this fat Meteor. IF Katakuri is hit by this, I'm not going to lie, he has no way out of this . Best thing he can hope for is to LIVE. This man was unstoppable during the first half of shippuden, but he unfortunately lost to the plot. As for Pain's strength and durability, his best display of physical strength is being able to combat and survive a bijuu blast from a 6 tailed Naruto. Now that we’ve broken down the Leader of the Akatsuki, we can now go over the Commander of the Big Mom Pirates, Charlotte Katakuri. Katakuri is the wielder of the mochi mochi fruit with the ability to see into the future. This is due to him having Advanced Observation Haki, which allows to see specifically 2 seconds into the future, giving him invincibility. Haki in general is a spiritually based power system that allows him to sense the presence of others and his surroundings. With Armament he can increase his physical attacks, with conquerors he can knock those out who are weak willed, and observation for enhanced perception. But of course his main form of combat is his devil fruit, the Mochi Mochi Fruit. THis allows Katakuri to turn his body into Mochi itself, along with his surroundings due to the fruit being awakened. This in conjunction with his future sight makes him damn near impossible to hit, as he morphs through all of your moves. With the mochi mochi, Katakuri is able to throw Janemba punches, multiple the amount of attacks he can throw, and similar to Luffy can make his limbs bigger. Katakuri as well can legit turn his surroundings into Mochi, meaning a free way to just land easy damage on his opponent. And like Pain as well he has RIDICULOUS Stamina. Katakuri was able to survive and beat Gear 4 Luffy in a fight, meaning he should upscale down the King Kong Gun that destroyed Dressrosa. Luffy in base would manage to perform just as well as this Luffy who should already be stronger than the one in Dressrosa, and he proceeds to stack Gear 4 on top of this. We can kinda apply this method of scaling as well when it comes to speed, as Sanji's siblings are stated to be lightspeed. And these guys are below Sanji who should be below Luffy, who then goes on to power creep himself after fighting Katakuri. So baseline he's definitely a couple times into lightspeed, and can react to even faster attacks thanks to his precognition. Sooo who wins?
