For Vlog #6 I teach you to give yourself (or someone else) an intermuscular (IM) injection *with NO pain--really!* Common medications given IM include: hormone replacement therapy for men and women including trans folk, fertility treatments, and vitamin B-12 shots. This is NOT the technique for giving subcutaneous (SQ) injections such as insulin.

The main "trick" is actually evidence-based! That is, it is supported by actual research. Here is a link to the article: https://journals.lww.com/anesthesia-analgesia/fulltext/2004/02000/reducing_venipuncture_pain_by_a_cough_trick__a.14.aspx

This video is actually a re-make of a one I posted ten years ago which has gotten over 1.8 million views. Clearly people found it helpful. If you want to see the old, amateurish vid, follow this link: https://youtu.be/E__kMjcp0XM.
