Video Not Working? Fix It Now

Transform your painted surface into a work of art with IOD Paint Inlays! These proprietary paints come on a carrier sheet and allow you to embed beautiful designs onto the surface of your project for an authentic hand-painted look.

In this video we will go over TWO ways to apply inlays, and why you might choose one or the other:

1. With a chalk or mineral type paint – this is perfect if you want a single color backing your inlay
2. With a flat clear topcoat – this is perfect if you have special finishes such as a two color hombre or distressing you want to maintain after the inlay is applied.

Both application techniques have unique attributes, so you’ll want to choose the method that is best suited to your project.

You can often get multiple uses out of a Paint Inlay, just set aside flat to dry after each use. With each consecutive use, the design becomes fainter and will pick up some of the paint color you are inlaying into. Some of our favorite pieces are second or third use inlays that leave beautifully distressed images.

Paint Inlays are an artisanal product, and like any new creative endeavor, it may take you some practice to get the hang of if you are new to them…but once you do, there’s no going back! Support is always available to you through our library of YouTube videos, our Facebook Creative Tribe, or directly from your local stockist.
