This is the first of five videos in the Painting 3D Prints series. I cover all the basics that will give you the skills and techniques to paint any 3D printed model from start to finish.
The tutorial starts at the very beginning when your 3D print is finished and fresh off the print bed. Then I explain and show all the steps of post-processing and preparing your raw print for primer.
I talk about the type of sandpaper I use, if and when I sand a 3D print, and then I get into the most important part - how to prime your model for painting.
Priming your 3D print is a crucial step to do before attempting to paint the print.
When it comes to 3D prints, the primer provides a base for the other paints to adhere to. The paint goes on much easier with a primer coat and sets you up for success with your 3D printed masterpiece.
