Celestial Sundown: Painting the Atlas Comet in Alaska's Twilight Skies
Welcome to the studio for an unforgettable start to my "Friday Funday" series! Today, we embark on a peaceful journey through a breathtaking Alaskan sunset, inspired by the Atlas Comet streaking across the sky. Set on a grand 48"x24" canvas, "Celestial Sundown" captures the serene beauty of twilight: warm tones of golden, red, and deep crimson blend with dusky skies in Phthalo and Prussian Blue, punctuated by shimmering stars and the comet's glowing trail.
In this episode, I’m taking a quieter approach, inviting you to relax and just be with the sounds and sights of the painting process. From the soft whisper of the brush to the soothing strokes of color, it’s an immersive experience I hope brings a sense of calm and wonder.
Supplies Used:
Paints: Liquid White, Titanium White, Yellow Ochre, Indian Yellow, Bright Red, Alizarin Crimson, Phthalo Blue, Prussian Blue, Dark Sienna, Van Dyke Brown
Brushes: The classics – all from Bob Ross's range!
