To do that, I’m going to simulate being colorblind using my RGB studio light, which removes all the color, so I’m left just focusing on the values. I’m painting with a box of jelly gouaches—these bright, multi-colored paints—and seeing if a painting can still look good when the colors are random, as long as the values are right. I’ll also talk a bit about color theory along the way and push the idea to see how far I can go with it.
