Mike Ashey narrates this interesting look at over a dozen different aircraft and how their airframes are covered. Great close up photography of the butt joints and lap joints as well as the rivet detail of some of the world’s history making aircraft such as the F6F Hellcat, the F4U Corsair, the IJN George, the P-47 Thunderbolt and an ME-262 are shown. Mike’s discussion of how lap and butt joints should be represented on the surfaces of scale model aircraft will get you thinking about raised and engraved panel lines. Mike also presents a picture of an airworthy DC-3, which will surly inspire scale modelers who like to weather their aircraft.
