Paramore is back and they are coming out SWINGING. This Is Why signals both the end of an era and the start of a new, more fresh one, as its release fulfills their contractual obligations with their record label (the same one they signed to when they were only teens). Even though I STILL can't stop thinking about "Riot!" (specifically Misery Business which was easily one of the greatest songs of my youth), I can't help but to smile when I listen to This Is Why as I can hear how much they've grown an evolved as a band over the years. This album feels very new, very original, and very fresh. While at the same time it often feels almost vintage at times and also takes many inspirations from 90s alternative rock. In some regards, this album feels like a big departure from the Paramore of old that we all came to love. But in other regards it still feels like them and will make you feel right at home. The same heart and soul is there. The ICONIC red hair is still there! The music has just evolved! Will this album be an instant classic? Is this the start of a new more creative era for Paramore? Only time will tell! Thanks for watching everyone!
