A Live Drive Bent Axis Piston Pump was causing bad vibrations to a tipper's engine and gearbox.
Live drive means that the pump is constantly rotating and the pistons are pumping oil while the truck's engine is running.
We Stripped down the pump and analysed the cause of failure which was due to some of the piston rings breaking, or losing tension, causing unbalanced pressure cycles and vibrations that affected the engine and transmission assembly.
