Our visit to the Wirral for a few days proved to be full. The first day began at Parkgate near to Heswall, and part of a long distance route of the Wirral Way.The Wirral Way actually follows a disused railway, extending along the Wirral Pensular. It's also the first country park in Britain.
The village of Parkgate, (a conservation village,) has historic roots as a seaport. Now the marshlands are home to wildfowl birds running along the Estuary of the River Dee.
