Here is another one of the my crazy projects. It involves modifying a 1940's Fairchild 539A Record Cutting Lathe for variable pitch (LPI) and adding a manual over-ride for lead-in and lead-out. Also added is a user interface which is an Nextion LCD touch screen display. The Touch screen communicates with an Arduino 2560 mega board. The Arduino switches DC voltages via relays into a unique "ramp and hold" circuit which emulates step motor acceleration and deceleration as discrete speed voltages are changed.
The Analog voltages from the "ramp and hold" circuit then goes into a Voltage to Frequency Converter (V/F) to generate the step pulses for a Compumotor LE micro stepping motor drive.
Blah, Blah, Blah. Does any out there care?
