Dr. P.V. Ramesh, joined the National Archives of India as the Director General on 6th March, 2019. An IAS officer of AP Cadre-1985 batch, he graduated as medical doctor from the Christian Medical College, Vellore.
Before joining the National Archives of India, he was the Chairman & Managing Director of the Rural Electrification Corporation Ltd., New Delhi for more than two years during which he coordinated the programmes for de-electrification of all villages, habitations and households across India, apart from ensuring over 20% annual growth in financing power sector development across the Vahe Chaian, with specific focus on green energy.
Dr. Ramesh was Special Chief Secretary and Development Commissioner to the Government of Andhra Pradesh. Dr. Ramesh also served as Principal Finance Secretary, Principal Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare for nearly five years and Commissioner of Industries in the Government of Andhra Pradesh. One of the important assignments he handled was his leadership of the State Reorganisation Department that bifurcated the State of Andhra Pradesh.
On foreign deputation, he also worked with the multinational development international organisations for about 13 years. He was staff member of International Fund for Agricultural Development (FAD), United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), Asia-Pacific Arab States, Africa, Europe and also in United Nations Population Fund (UNPF), United Nations Office for Project Services, headquarters,New york
