The Qahtanis of Mogadishu | Tariikhda Reer Faqi | دور القحطانيين في نشر الإسلام في شرق إفريقيا
The Banadir people played a significant role in the spread and propagation of Islam in East Africa, one group in particular are the Qahtanis (also known as Reer Faqi), who alone produced over 100+ Shuyookh, Qudaat, Islamic literature, educational institutes and so on. Their influence can be echoed throughout the coast of East Africa up until today.
