This video shows HO passenger and freight trains operating on Burr Stewart's 1973-era Burrlington Northern model railroad in Seattle, WA, USA. It features the "Empire Builder" passenger train and a well-weathered U28C freight diesel locomotive arriving at, and being broken down in, Interbay yard. Station stops for the passengers and terminal switching for the freight train are included, along with a few unexpected, but relatively harmless, mistakes and mishaps. Recent HO scale freight car releases from Tangent and Class One Models are featured, as well as some veteran Walthers passenger cars in the consist of the "Builder." Burr's narration includes comments on the GN's "Big sky blue" paint scheme as well as the concurrent Penn Central merger on the US east coast, which oddly used a similar shade of green for its paint scheme.
During the narration, Burr mentions "Part 1" of his video series, which shows how the tracks in Interbay yard are used. Here is the link to that video: https://youtu.be/2sAdTHq6HmI
Burr's HO/HOn3 model railroad is set in the BN's Seattle region in 1973, three years after the 1970 corporate merger that created the Burlington Northern (BN) Railroad out of the Great Northern (GN), Northern Pacific (NP), Burlington Route (CB&Q) and the Spokane, Portland and Seattle (SP&S) railroads. Playing smaller roles on the layout are the three-foot narrow gage (HOn3) D&RGW "west coast extension", the Milwaukee Road (MILW)'s western extension and the Union Pacific (UP).
