বঙ্গভঙ্গের ইতিহাস ১৯০৫ সাল (Partition of Bengal 1905 ) :-
বাংলা তথা ভারতীয় উপমহাদেশের ইতিহাসে ১৯০৫ সনের বঙ্গভঙ্গ একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ঘটনা। এটি একদিকে যেমন ব্রিটিশদের প্রশাসনিক ক্ষেত্রে এক গুরুতর বোঝা লাগবে সহায়তা করেছিল তেমনি নবগঠিত পূর্ববাংলার জনগণের শিক্ষা সংস্কৃতি, রাজনৈতিক, অর্থনৈতিক, শান্তি শৃংখলা পূণর্বহালে অবদান রেখেছিল। অপরদিকে এ ঘটনার প্রতিক্রিয়া
হিসেবে পশ্চিম বাংলার হিন্দু সমাজের বিরোধিতার দরুন সৃষ্ট আন্দোলন স্বদেশী, বয়কট ও সন্ত্রাসবাদী আন্দোলনে রূপ নেয়। ফলশ্রুতিতে কংগ্রেস তথা হিন্দু সমাজের স্বদেশী ও সন্ত্রাসবাদী আন্দোলনের চাপের মুখে ব্রিটিশ সরকার ১৯১১ সনে বঙ্গভঙ্গ রদ করতে বাধ্য হয়।বঙ্গভঙ্গ রদের ঘোষণাকে কংগ্রেস ও হিন্দু সমাজ স্বাগত জানায়।অনেক ধর্মান্ধ ও উগ্র কংগ্রেসী নেতা হিন্দু জাতীয়তাবাদের বিজয় বলে ভাবতে শুরু করে। পাশাপাশি পূর্ববাংলা ও আসাম নামক নতুন প্রদেশ গঠিত হওয়ায় পূর্ব বাংলার বাংগালী মুসলমান জনগণের মধ্যে যে উৎসাহ, প্রাণ- চাঞ্চল্য ও জাগরণের সৃষ্টি হয়েছিল বঙ্গভঙ্গ রদের ঘোষণা তা স্তব্ধ করে দেয়।

Besides, with the formation of new provinces called East Bengal and Assam, the excitement and awakening that had arisen among the Bengali Muslim people of East Bengal was halted by the announcement of the abolition of the Partition of Bengal.
