Not a game about dinosaurs, it is a hardcore CRPG style role playing game / dungeon crawler with sizable bestiary and places to get lost inside with crushingly high encounter rate. The designer was Kazunari Tomi who also founded and designed the Lunar series later with Studio Alex for GameArts. The game industry was rough at the time and Falcom employees suffering burn out but you can tell the love they put into this one, and it eventually got a Windows version in 2002 with a fixed encounter rate among other things.
