As Shumi explained in the first episode of this four-part series on motorcycle suspension, its job is to keep the wheels firmly in contact with the ground. In part 2, we take a closer look at the compression damping. Essentially, it is controlling the rate at which the springs compress. It gives control over how the spring reduces in length as the wheel climbs up a bump in the road. Not all motorcycles have adjustable compression, but there are ways to go around it. Shumi explains it all in this episode of PD Simplified.
