Have you been searching for a knob recorder? Something that will record and playback CV in a musical fashion? I was too until the Bastl Neo Trinity was announced. I’ve been excited to get it into my case ever since. My main issue with other knob recorders is that they were large for the function they offered. They often weren’t flexible and it you were sequencing specific things they would be impossible to return back to them. Neo Trinity sorts out a lot of those things and adds a ton more in the equivalent or less space. This is now really a modulation source of all manners – LFOs and envelopes included. Thought I could have taken a very feature specific video manual approach at this, I wanted to try to learn it over a period of time and really integrate it into my case and my use case. I use it to sequence a lot of things including pitch and drums. In the end, this could replace many things, especially if you’re building up a compact case. Clock, envelopes, LFOs, smooth and stepped cv voltage, different length patterns, all that. I also decided to jump in and shake up my filming and editing process, learning some lighting, filming in a couple different places in my house and learning to edit in Resolve. Because I never finished the edit before my kids were off for their summer break, it’s only getting done now. Hopefully it’s worth the wait. Looking forward to making more of these and getting back into the swing. More to come.

Bastl offered to send me Neo Trinity if I were to include it in some videos and patching on this channel. It was next on my to buy list which was funny timing. No money changed hands and no one has seen the video before posting. All my meandering ramblings are clearly my own thoughts based on my experience with it so far.
