We are going through the book of Colossians, attempting to stress the transcendence, holiness, and awesomeness of Jesus. And LOVING it!
Our passage is Col. 3:18 - 4:1, and Pastor Chad Johnson of Fellowship Bible Church in Lindon Utah joins Corry Pensabene and Heather Zander today.
This section of Colossians gets very practical, and right off the get-go you are going to hear what has become a cuss word in our individualistic society today - submission.
DON'T SKIP THIS CONVERSATION! We need the whole counsel of God. Why? Because it is perfect.
Discussion considerations as you view...
- The Christian family is distinct, operating in stark contrast to the expectations of our culture.
- The concepts of obedience and submission are considered abusive and oppressive, but executed biblically are necessary for the flourishing of families.
- Humility, love, compassion, patience, and longsuffering make the imperatives of submission and obedience work.
- Ultimately we are serving Jesus and are submitting to his authority. This requires trust and faith.
Pastor Chad does a terrific job of parsing this out, and you'll be blessed.
