Tucked away in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky is the city of Pikeville. It has a compact and quaint downtown, while at the same time being surrounded by beautiful natural areas.
Home to the University of Pikeville, this place has ties to the Hatfield and McCoy feud, a long tradition of coal mining and is the site of one of the largest earth-moving projects in the Western Hemisphere.
Pikeville is definitely worth a visit and should absolutely be under consideration for the title, best town in Appalachia.

Having retired in 2023, I now travel full-time, seeing places all around the world. My idea for YouTube is to make the videos more about the places and people along the way, than about me. I hope that the experience for you is both entertaining and educational.
