The third or fourth repair of a Pioneer SX-950 receiver which has had a very long-running tradition of exploding.
The last failure was brought on by either a broken pad on the power amplifier board, or a bias potentiometer going open-circuit. The bias potentiometers were replaced right after the failure, but after that repair I put it on a shelf and let it sit for a year or two, dreading to fix it in case it was going to explode again.
