As we all know piping supports are a major part of any piping system to work under all conditions. Pipe supports should be placed in such a way that they can carry all loads acting on a pipe under all conditions i.e. operations, testing.
Support location depends on various factors like line size, valve location, piping configuration and structure availability
There are 2 possible ways to model the pipe, depending upon the end condition
1) The simple supported beam(pinned end)
2) Fixed end beam
Allowable support span depends upon various factors like stiffness, weight, insulation etc.
