In Part 1 of our reaction we meet PK, an alien that lands on earth, ready to study up on the species known as “humanity”
PK, like a human toddler trusts the first human it meets and that human robs him of his only way home!
We then meet Jaggu, a young Indian woman who falls in love with a young man from Pakistan and when this love seems doomed, they decide to give it a try only to fall apart on their wedding day.
Jaggu, goes on with her life and becomes a tv anchor/journalist. And in search of a solid story she eventually run into PK, the eccentric stranger who clearly does not fit with society or its standards.
What a fascinating perspective to see humanity through the eyes of this Alien named “PK” by humans who think PK is literally “drunk.”
When PK leaned that only God can help him get home, he begins a personal crusade to find God and ask Him to please help him find his key back home.
PK’s journey collides with Jaggu, a jaded young lady who cares only to oust corrupt religious leaders and to denounce falsities that take advantage of the meek and desperate for answers prayers. After all this would make a great story for the tv station she works for.
As we end part 1 we see the guru has somehow found the amulet or key that can call PK’s mothership back to earth. The guru claims it for his religious advantage and when corruption seems to be obvious all perspectives will collide! It also does not make things easier that PK has fallen in love with Jaggu!!
