Today's video is all about planting a small colourful tropical or jungle style garden border with plants that can cope with shade, I had a small North-facing area to plant up and hope my tough, hardy, mostly evergreen and low maintenance plant choices help or inspire you too. I use plants like Heucheras, Hostas and Ferns to create a border that'll look colourful all year round, adding to the tropical effect without using a lot of fussy or tender plants. After this I've got an update on my massive Gunnera Manicata plants and a quick look at the differences between Gunnera Manicata and Tinctoria. 0:00 - Intro 1:51 - Small Shady Border Overview and Plant Ideas 5:00 - Growing Heucheras for Colour in Shade 8:20 - Growing Ferns in a Tropical Style Garden 11:43 - Growing Hostas in a Shady Tropical Style Garden 13:05 - Persicaria Purple Fantasy for Shady Areas in Tropical Gardens 17:44 - Giant Gunnera Manicata Growth Update 18:18 - Gunnera Manicata vs Gunnera Tinctoria Differences 20:00 Gunnera Manicata Flower If you've enjoyed my content and would like to say thanks for the price of a coffee then please head over to my Ko-fi, any kind donations would be appreciated and put towards creating more exciting content (or treats for Max if you wish!): https://ko-fi.com/georgesjunglegarden Thanks, George
