When I first started gardening, I was all about flowers and LOTS of them. As my knowledge of plants has grown, so has my awareness of incredible shrubs like our native hydrangea, aka smooth hydrangea or Hydrangea arborescens.
I'm enamored with two in particular, Haas Halo and Invincibelle Lace, both of which are lacecap varieties and pollinator beacons.
I added three Invincibelle Lace hydrangeas to the garden last year and you can find that video here...

And here's the Mt. Cuba Center Wild Hydrangea Study I mention in the video...

Hi there! My name is Heather and I garden in zone 5b in the southwest suburbs of Chicago on a small residential lot. My garden lives a whole lot larger than it is and I love sharing tips and tricks, as well as plenty of mistakes, with others who love to play in the dirt.
If you liked this video, please give it a thumbs up and if you'd like to see more garden content from a DIY gardener, click the bell to subscribe. That way, you'll never miss a post.
As always, thanks for your support and I'll see you in the garden!
