Join the Polyvgal Institute Community for this free Somatic Movement Practice led by Amber Gray, PHD, MPH, LPCC, BC-DMT, NCC. recorded live on July 18, 2024.
As Dr. Gray describes, "Our human bodies are movement. Movement is a primary language, creative expression, and pathway to healing. This brief introduction to a Polyvagal-informed Somatic & Dance/Movement Therapy grounding practice weaves a little theory with two experientials that are infused with polyvagal and Indigenous wisdom." This movement practice is appropriate for, and can be adapted to, all levels of mobility.
Polyvagal-informed Dance/Movement Therapy is at the heart of Dr. Gray's Restorative Movement Psychotherapy, innovated over years of idea-sharing and collaborative teaching with Dr. Stephen Porges. The core of this work is breath, sound, and movement as a direct access to regulate the nervous system following traumatic exposure. Dr. Gray is also a member of Polyvagal Institute's Editorial Board.
