These giant chops cost me £2 each, which for the quality and size, that was a good deal, and you only need 1 chop per person! Then I got thinking what would go well with it, and what better accompaniment that a rich cider cream sauce. Cider and pork is an awesome combination, and has stood the test of time. It's a simple dish, but perfect for these colder days. I get irritated sometimes, by people that beat down on British food, saying it's terrible or boring. However, when you do a bit of digging, it's normally because of a lack of knowledge, or less than pleasurable experiences that gave them this impression. Good, honest British food is sublime, as long as it's cooked right, I mean i've had some terrible, dry tasteless beef stews, believe you me, but i've equally had some exceptional ones. If you're one of these people, or you know someone who has an aversion to British food, then make them this simple little number, and i'm sure they will change their mind. :) #pork #recipes #cooking To make my pork chops with cider cream sauce you will need: ►2 thick cut bone-in pork chops ►About 200ml of good sweet cider ►About 200ml of double cream (heavy cream) ►1 tsp of wholegrain mustard ►2 small shallots ►A small knob of butter ►Salt & pepper ►Oil for cooking Serve with mashed potatoes & green veg like cabbage, broccoli or any of your choosing.
