Hello again!
Welcome to the another video showing how Porsche model kit is being built. Today I will show you the full build of Porsche 911 GT3 from Tamiya along with some additional accessories from Scaleproduction and Hobby Design, I have also finally used one metal sticker from ZoomOn Models set. The kit itself includes parts which allow you to build a GT3 or a regular 911 (996 model) I have chosen to go with the first option as the 2nd one is going to be my next project. This kit didn’t bring me any issues, everything went smoothly and I really enjoyed spending time on it. There was maybe only one thing which was a bit tricky, as there is no masking set for windows included so it took me some hours to make it on my own. Idea for this project was to make this car more detailed comparing to my previous builds so I paid attention to the interior focusing on the seatbelts or the racing wheel and focus more on the way how exhaust looks like. At the end I think it doesn’t look bad :)
Some short story about the car itself. Porsche 911 GT3 is capable of accelerating to 100 km/h in a mere 4.8 seconds and with a top speed of 302 km/h the GT3 achieved a new record for production cars when it completed a lap on the northern circuit of Nurburgring in only 7 min and 56 seconds. Compared with the regular 911 Carrera the brake callipers are larger and sturdier then before, bucket seats provide about 20 kg of weight savings and the entire rear-seat section of the car is dropped. Tamiya’s kit represents Mk.I GT3, which was introduced in 1999, It featured a 3.6-litre flat-six engine generating a maximum power output of 355 hp. This engine was shared with the 996 Turbo and was a derivative of the engine developed for the 911 GT1 race car. It sounds great and it drives great at least that’s what you can find reading some articles on the internet :D
