We found this blacksmithing leg vise in an estate auction a few days ago. This vise is an Indian Chief 50lb model made by Columbus Forge and Iron Company. I expected to have to make repairs and do a restoration but I was pleasantly surprised to see it only needed to be cleaned up! I wire wheeled all the rust away, cleaned it up and applied some linseed oil and it looks fantastic. Now all it needs is a stand!
