A bike touring documentary from Jasper, Alberta to Antelope Wells, New Mexico following the Adventure Cycling Association's route. The Great Divide Mountain Bike Route is amazing and I am grateful that I had the time to be able to do the trip. Thankful for the people I met along the way and stoked about how much footage I took.
The film is dedicated to Nat Wilson who died in an avalanche in the spring of 2023 at the age of 29. He was outlandishly good on a snow machine, excellent at snowboarding, a hard working skilled mechanic, great raft guide, master snow cat operator, son and friend.
The GDMBR is certainly an enduring ride guaranteed to have big highs and some big lows thrown in there. I doubt that I illustrated in the film how hard it can be at times to make miles on the bike. That being said one thing that I especially looked forward to while pedaling uphill was making some coffee down the road. At the end of the trip making coffee a little too quickly got me into trouble.
Thanks to the ACA for putting together this route and a big thank you to my wife who gave me a ride to Jasper.
