Heyo! Here’s the second video in my Pottery + Handbuilding series. Today I will be constructing wheel thrown details onto a wheel thrown bowl using various handbuilding techniques. I’ll show you how I design, attach and support the wheel thrown parts and how to measure everything so that your design looks clean and intentional. This is the second video tutorial in a 4-part series I am making for my Pottery 3 class. The focus is on ways to alter wheel thrown pots to add unique embellishments. Some of the students in this class have never used clay for aesthetic or sculptural details, so this should be a fun and exploratory unit. Enjoy!
