Hello again from The Pottery Corner - my studio near Chichester on the South Coast of England. In this video tutorial I give a step by step guide of the whole making process to hand build an original Pottery Corner 3-Legged Wonky Pot out of white stoneware clay. I cover all the tips and techniques you will need to make this item – the template for which is available to purchase on my Etsy Shop (link below).

They are proper little characters and you can go crazy putting your own unique personality on these little pots. You can decorate your pot using some of the other techniques used in Tutorials on my channel - such as slip decoration, monoprinting, stamping using textured stamps etc etc - there really is no limit to the possibilities. They look amazing with a cactus or succulent plant or best of all something that trails over the edges. As they are lifted from the table surface by their little feet, the plant trails beautifully over the edge. The Great Pottery Throwdown on the television has inspired me to share my techniques for this handbuilding project. I hope this will inspire you to make your own. It would be great to see photos of your pieces via email to [email protected]. Check out my Pottery Top Tip videos for tips on clay related processes. My work is available to purchase via my Etsy shop (link below) if you’d be kind enough to take a look. Hi I’m Sarah Amos. I gave up my day job and am now living the dream as a full-time potter and teacher, running courses from my studio, The Pottery Corner, in a little village just outside Chichester on the South Coast of England. With Cissy and Charlie, my studio companions, we welcome students of all abilities from complete beginners to the more experienced, teaching throwing on the potters wheel as well as handbuilding techniques. I love to share my clay experience and knowledge by passing on pottery techniques in my Pottery Top Tip videos; which include full tutorials on items to try out yourselves. I also sell my work via my Website and Etsy Shop. So grab a cuppa, sit back, relax and let’s dive into what’s going on in The Pottery Corner today.
