Power Apps Form Control Tutorial [Power Platform Series - Ep. 6]

In this video, Matt continues his series on the Power Platform. He showcases how to use a form in canvas applications for the user to create new records as well as edit existing records.

Matt will show how to change the control types of your data cards based on the data type of your fields. He will also discuss how to change the default values of fields within your form. For example, he shows how to populate a data card value with the date the user is accessing the application. He also shows how to get more lines of text for comment fields as well as limit a number rating for a numerical field.

In addition, Matt will show how to lock down fields from your users in the form so they can see the data that is going to be logged, but not be able to change the values. Matt also shows how to add buttons that allow for resetting a form, turning a form into edit mode, and dynamically changing the values of the form based on if the form is in edit or new mode. Finally, if you want to notify your user that the record was created Matt will showcase that functionality.
