This week is all about preparation and tying up loose ends! Philippe unloads the van with drainage pipes and fittings for the barns—though not everything has arrived yet, there’s still plenty to do in the meantime.
First up, it’s time to fix the hammer drill that broke a few videos ago while breaking out a concrete pad in the old barn. Then, the Bobcat gets a well-deserved clean-up and grease-up before Philippe puts it to work at Claude’s, helping with some groundwork to resolve a winter-related issue in his garden.
After that, it’s maintenance time in Claude’s workshop, where filters are changed, and in the meantime, Claude helps us fix a roof rack we got for the van. This will make transporting materials easier for the upcoming work on the driveway and the renovation of the barn roof. It really feels like everything is starting to come together!
With the excavator back in shape, Philippe shifts focus to the front of the barn, beginning the process of digging out part of the driveway to reach a stable soil layer. By the end of the week, maintenance is wrapped up, and progress on the driveway is well underway. Slowly but surely, all these smaller tasks are setting the stage for the bigger renovations ahead!
