Now that both the solar if you will and lunar new years have been ushered in we try today to try to make some sense of the events that have taken place amid the start of 2025.

1) Kelly, a week before Mr. Trump's return to the White House, the New York Times published a thought-provoking opinion piece about the turbulent times of transition.
First, what is the gist of this article, and what were some of your takeaways?
2) Colin, the same opinion piece has linked Korea's dismal birth rate to the discontent of its people, which in turn the writer claims has contributed to its latest political unrest.
What are your thoughts?

Korea may see its annual birth rate rebounding for the first time in almost a decade.
First, what do the latest findings tell us, and how are pundits explaining the rebound?
4) Meanwhile, Colin, I understand you've compared a country's low birth rate to a form of national suicide.

5) Over in Washington D.C., Kelly, according to AP News, within hours of entering the top office, Mr. Trump revoked AI guardrails put in place by the Biden administration.
Do tell us more about this move, and what has been shared about the Trump administration's own measures to ensure AI safety?
6) Colin, back here in South Korea, there is much concern over the phenomenon of brain drain where AI is concerned.
Broadly speaking, what do you believe are some of the causes of this phenomenon, and what might be some countermeasures?
7) Kelly, Korea is currently witnessing deep divides in politics, among generations and between genders.
How do you explain this phenomenon?
8) Colin, some observers believe the latest political turmoil here is serving to bring generations together.
What are your observations?
