I wanted to do an update to my previous video that demonstrates it in action here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rIxvnI9qq1c
In this video, I've added 2 more sizes to the line up and show you the homemade vacuum hose that is available for just $4, if you've lost yours. I also demonstrate how to use the $21 brake bleeder I got from Amazon in case you don't want to invest in a Food Saver right now.
My version of the pvc jar sealer is easy to make yourself at home so long as you have a miter saw or miter box and hand saw to make a straight cut. Cost for the end caps is $6, the pvc glue is about $6-13 for a jar depending on the brand and size, the cost of the pvc pipe is $24 for 10ft length x 4", if you can find them. Most of the stores around me are out right now. Unless you have some laying around your home already or plan to make these for all your friends, you may want to consider having me make one for you!
BTW, another advantage of using the PVC tube is that glass jars such as from jam and spaghetti sauce can vacuum sealed with this where as it won't work with the jar kit - they only work with mason-style jars with the metal canning lids.
