In this video you'll get a sneak peek at my new mobile app coming soon to both App Store and Google Play. "The Building Blocks Of Rock" is a visual library of the most common riff, lick, and chord shapes used in rock guitar.
Each shape has a short sound example, and describes several places you can hear it in famous songs. You'll recognize many of these shapes just from the sound, and the visual shape helps you "connect the dots", both to other examples, and also the underlying chord and scale shapes.
Features:
* almost 500 riff, lick, chord and scale shapes
* each shape has a sound clip/example
* color mode shows underlying music theory (relative pitch)
* leftie mode for left-handed players
The original "Building Blocks Of Rock" can be found at www.guitarviz.com. It's free (it's just a web page). There are no sound examples, and it doesn't look as nice, but it does have most of the same functionality (except for left-handed view). You can find it at:

If you're new to the channel, please check out my original video, "Common guitar riffs and licks - the "building blocks of rock"; to learn more about how these shapes work, and how you can add them into your own playing. And check out my other videos for examples of these shapes in action, with many examples shown close-up, from the player viewpoint.
