🚩 Hull geometry - Part 5 🔸 Maximum area section (Axc): largest underwater section area of the hull. For sailing yachts, it is usually located behind (aftward) the midship section. 🔸 Mass displacement: the mass of water displaced by the submerged part of the hull while floating. 🔸 Total mass displacement: the mass of water displaced by the submerged part of the hull plus all submerged appendages while floating. 🔸 Volume displacement: the volume of water displaced by the submerged part of the hull while floating. 🔸 Total volume displacement: the volume of water displaced by the submerged part of the hull plus all submerged appendages while floating. 🔸 Prismatic coefficient (Cp): ratio of the volume displacement to the volume of the circumscribed cylinder whose length is equal to LWL and its cross-section equal to the maximum area section of the hull Axc. It represents the fullness of the yacht. The fuller the ends, the larger the Cp. 👉 How much do you know about hull geometry? 🎯 https://navalapp.com/articles/introducing-the-hull/ Ready to join?💪 🎯 https://navalapp.com/sign-up/ 🎯 Links: - Navalapp: https://navalapp.com/ - Memberships: https://navalapp.com/sign-up/ - Merch: https://navalapp.com/merch/ - Courses: https://navalapp.com/courses/ - Articles: https://navalapp.com/articles/ - Calculation templates: https://navalapp.com/calculations/ - LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/navalapp/ - Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/navalapp/ - Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/navalapp_/ - Twitter: https://twitter.com/navalapp - Pinterest: https://pinterest.com/navalapp/
