Pro-Ject designed the EVO 2 turntable around reading your vinyl with accuracy and warmth. Accuracy starts with the EVO 2's motor suspension, which uses improved damping for silent operation. That motor spins a bearing with a stainless steel axle and bronze bushing, which delivers smooth, quiet turns.
On top of that is a heavy aluminum platter, which has an internal thermoplastic damping ring to fight any stray resonance. The lightweight carbon fiber tonearm sits on a heavy bearing block, offering excellent rigidity and low resonance. At the end of the tonearm is the factory-installed Pick It MM EVO moving magnet cartridge, which uses split-pole pins for enhanced tracking accuracy and detail retrieval.
The base is made from MDF, and under it are adjustable sound-isolating feet. The EVO 2 goes to great lengths to reduce vibrations and resonance that can interfere with tracking accuracy, and thus color your music.
And speaking of color, you've got a lot of choices for the plinth. There are several to choose from, including some high-gloss finishes that make the EVO 2 stand out in any room. There are more subdued satin and natural finishes, too.
