Project implemented by ONG Recup Niger titled: Empowering Youth in Liptako Region (Niger, Mali and Burkina Faso) with Gender-Transformative Actions to Overcome Gendered Norms that Hinder Women's Role in Prevention of Violent Extremism. The project “Empowering Youth in Liptako” project aims to address gender norms hindering women’s roles in PVE through workshops, community-based actions, mentorship, and online platforms. A two-day workshop in Niamey, Niger, trained 50 participants from these three countries in five initiatives: gender sensitization, community dialogues, advocacy for gender-responsive policies, religious education, and media campaigns. Participants applied these actions in their communities in Niger (Niamey, Tillaberi and Tera), Mali (Gao) and Dori (Burkina Faso) with financial and mentor support. iDovers as mentors provided guidance, ensuring practical skills application and leadership development. Online platforms, including WhatsApp and Facebook, were established for knowledge-sharing and advocacy. The project fosters gender equality, resilience, and social cohesion, amplifying women’s roles in peacebuilding efforts.
