The purpose of this video is to give an absolute deep dive into my modification strategy and to share what I have learned about the ZL1-1LE platform over the past year of running track days, analyzing @bankspower #iDash data and over 30 years of Engineering Data Analysis to improve performance in both automotive & aerospace industries. The ultimate plan is to build a very reliable track car that can perform and/or compete in the @DRIVENASA #TimeAttack TTU class in 2025!!
After a year of comprehensive testing, experimentation and more #TrackDay evaluations, the cooling systems I have been working on have been completed with HUGE RESULTS, and the key to unlocking ALL THE HIDDEN POWER!! As someone with decades of racing experience in other series like SCCA ProRacing where extracting all the power within the limitations of the rules meant being on the Podium or the Trailer, I am bringing that knowledge as well as a background in Commercial Business/Military Aviation Systems to you with results!
This video breaks down the beginning steps to finding what is killing your power, sending you on wild goose-chases to solve problems and other issues that you may not even know existed, that are holding your success and horsepower down! Use the info I am sharing to create your own assessment and plan, leave a comment and watch this video all the way through as I have links to all the other videos, to go deeper into details for your success!!
In the beginning I addressed the easy fixes like changing the engine oil, rear eLSD fluid and discovered the special circumstances around changing the A10 Ultra-Low Viscosity ATF. I have linked the video of that process here:

Changing the Fluids made significant gains in dropping temperatures across the board but with the collateral affects of the systems' designs, there was evidence of power being hidden. Unlocking this power would take subsequent track days and lots of frustrations masked by issues that seemed to be obvious, like a misfiring cylinder at lower transient RPMs. The Internet kept telling me I had the "WRONG SPARK PLUGS" and I needed to switch to the Iridium NGKs. Shops claiming to specialize in building race cars and ZL1 performance packages all advertise the NGK plugs and I even copied their recommendation, changing the plugs for the first time between trackday Lunch sessions. Nothing was fixed by using the NGK plugs, the miss was STILL THERE!! So a wasted weekend and $1000s of dollars later traveling roundtrip 600+ miles, I loaded everything up and went home disgusted. At this point, full of frustrations and lots of wasted money later, I made what I feel one of the best investments in my ZL1-1LE, the @bankspower #iDash #DataMonster!! This single device was originally ordered to supplement the modifications on my 2021 RAM 3500 MegaCab, but I soon figured out it was key in tracking trends on my ZLE's LT4 engine's trends. The iDash lead me to track trends in oil temperature/pressure recovery and at times, the lack thereof. I also learned to track the trends in injector pulse as well as coilpack dwell & energy output. By tracking these trends, I could see that cylinders 3 & 5 were consistently being adjusted for lean burn and added fueling was indicated the left bank O2 sensors. I was now on a path to truly fix the problems and NOT the symptoms!!
