Protests against the policies of US President Donald Trump have begun in several US states.
The protesters said they were "fed up" with statements from President Donald Trump and Elon Musk. The participants spoke out against the strengthening of immigration policies and the reduction of federal spending,
The march was accompanied by chants of "No kings on Presidents' Day" and "Elon Musk must go."
The largest protests took place in Boston, Florida and California. Thousands took to the streets. Despite this, the events are peaceful – people are singing, carrying posters. Frost and snow did not stop the outraged citizens. However, in the state of Arizona they were unable to get into the government building.
Some slogans: "This is a coup"; "Cowards bow to Trump, patriots, stand up"; "Immigrants Make America Great Again."
One of the posters depicted Uncle Sam saying, "I want you to fight back."
Ironically, there were counter-demonstrations in support of Trump in West Palm Beach. Supporters of the president gathered outside the Trump International Golf Club.
Earlier media wrote that Trump's rating is declining . And if by some indicators he has lost only a few percent, then by others - ten percent.
In Phoenix, Capitol security blocked protesters after several people tried to break in. Activist Deamber Archer, one of the protest organizers, called on demonstrators to remain peaceful.
"We are here to make a statement, not to be a statement ," she told reporters.
At the same time, the Arizona Senate has backed a controversial bill that would tighten controls on immigration. Senate Leader Warren Petersen said:
"After four years of chaos at the border, all levels of government must help Trump restore order."
Experts note that mass protests could be the beginning of a new political crisis. Less than a month after his inauguration, Trump has already faced calls for impeachment and a total lack of trust from a part of the population.
