Welcome back to FixIt All Workshop!
In this video, I’m fixing a PS5 controller with a common issue—shuttering and jumpy motion on both sticks. The original resistive sticks needed to be replaced, so I decided to upgrade them to Hall effect sensor sticks specially made for the PS5. Watch as I navigate the challenges of removing the tightly-fitted original sticks and replacing them with new, adjustable Hall effect sticks. After the hardware adjustment and a calibration, the PS5 controller is back to smooth performance!
What You'll Learn:
Diagnosing shuttering and jumpy motion issues in PS5 controller sticks
Disassembling the PS5 controller and removing the tightly-fitted original sticks
Installing new Hall effect sticks, adjusting their center position, and calibrating the controller
Testing the PS5 controller post-repair to ensure everything is working smoothly
Why This is Important:
Upgrading PS5 controllers with Hall effect sticks can provide smoother and more precise movement compared to the original resistive sticks, and hopefully longer life. This video shows the process of upgrading and calibrating these sensors, helping you maintain and enhance your PS5 controller for the best gaming experience.
Tools & Materials Used:
