One of the greatest recordings I have heard of Pt. Kumar Gandharva is his rendition of Puriya Dhanashree. Here, Mukulji sings the same bandish as his father, but in a style so distinct that even someone who has heard Kumarji's rendition tens of times gets sucked into a whirlpool of anticipation and exhilaration.
