In this video I take a roll of Acros 100 and Pushed and Pulled on the same roll.
Rather than waste three rolls I decided to split one roll into three sections.
So I shot…
12 frames at normal box speed
12 Frames Pushed at 400 Speed (2 Stop Push)
12 Frames Pulled at 25 Speed. (2 Stop Push)
After I shot the film I cut it from the camera and split it into three sections and put each section into it's own tank.
For the development I used Rodinal at 1:50 and took the standard time of 13.5 minutes for Acros box speed and then
for the Push I increased the development time by 30% (15% each stop)
For the Pull I decreased the development time by 30%. (15% each stop)
The results you will see in the video and I ended up making a print from the Pulled section of the film as this had more detail in the shadow areas.
To be honest I could have made a decent print from any of the negatives, however, the pulled film gave me much less work in the darkroom!
My explanation of pushing and pulling film may not be the best in this video but there is plenty of information online on the subject.
