Pond farming

Mangrove pen farming
Involves growing crabs in mangrove pens with bamboo and net fences. The dense forest provides shelter for the crabs, and they can store their food separately from their feed.
Vertical housing
Involves growing crabs in vertical housing that is cleaned regularly. Crabs are fattened in the housing over a short period of time to produce meat crabs.
Here are some tips for crab farming:
Location
Choose a location that has access to brackish water, which is a mix of freshwater and saltwater.
Stocking
Use juvenile crabs that are 10–100 grams in size.
Feeding
Feed the crabs trash fish and other locally available items. The feeding rate should be about 5% of the biomass per day.
Harvesting
Start partially harvesting crabs when they reach a marketable size. This is called "stock-thinning" and can help the crabs survive by reducing cannibalism and attacks.
Monitoring
Regularly sample the crabs to monitor their growth and health. This can help you adjust the feeding rate.
