The story of the meeting and marriage of Queen Balqis' father and mother was told by al-Munawi in Faidl al-Qadir as follows: Balqis' father was the king of Yemen who had a hobby of hunting. Once, when he felt thirsty, he was given a tent to take shelter in, and from inside the tent an old man appeared. The king asked for a drink, then the grandfather called a woman who he ordered to bring a drink. The woman came out looking very beautiful, like a ray of sunlight, holding a cup made of yaqut stone.
