Revisiting Quest Games Optimizer (QGO) after 1 additional month of testing. I share QGO Game settings; my recommended 4K Video capture settings; my recommended Capture Video Settings for YouTube shorts, and DaVinci Resolve 19 settings. FIRST, ORIGINAL VIDEO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ALQWWlbnpw I also share how to capture YouTube shorts for gameplays in the Meta Quest headsets using QGO. Here are the links and details I refer to in this video: Normal YouTube video that will NOT be a YouTube short - QGO Video capture settings: Aspect ratio (= horizontal): 16:9 Resolution (4K): 3840x2160 Cropping guides: NO (not necessary) Compression quality: 60 mbps Frame rate: 30fps YouTube video that will be a short - QGO Video capture settings: Aspect ratio (= vertical): 9:16 Resolution: 3840x2160 (4K) Cropping guides: YES (enable) Compression quality: 60 mbps Frame rate: 30fps As of 2025, YouTube officially recommends using the H.264 video codec for uploading videos. While H.265 (HEVC) is a more advanced codec that offers better compression, YouTube's current guidelines still prioritize H.264 for wider compatibility and optimal processing on their platform. The recommended container format is MP4, with AAC-LC as the preferred audio codec. Inside DaVinci Resolve version 19: Master Settings should match the Resolution (for me = 3840x2160) and the Frame rate (for me = 30fps). After editing, in the delivery phase in DaVinci Resolve, the custom settings (instead of using the YouTube settings) should be: Format: MP4 Codec: H.264 (H.265 is possible, but less compatibility with people's devices) Encoder: Native Resolution: Timeline Resolution (which should be 3840x2160 if you fixed the Master Settings at the beginning before editing) Frame rate: Timeline Frame Rate (which should be 30 frames per second if you fixed this in the Master Settings at the beginning before editing) Quality: Restrict to 120 000 Kb/s I refer to YouTuber 'Matt WhoisMatt Johnson'.
